As a bit of color connoisseur, hopefully by now you have learned that the folks here at Preval seem to gravitate towards adventures that embody the very word. Last week was no exception, as yours truly was working with a truly colorful group of individuals in Los Angeles- the team over at Loot Crate’s headquarters.
Once a month, geeks all over the globe anxiously stalk their mailboxes for a package (or “crate”) full of goodies (or “loot”) based around a specific theme. This month’s theme is entitled “Animate.” And, while I cannot disclose the contents of the box, let me just say that the team involved in making this magic happen is just as “animated” and inspirational as the contents inside.
Colors in animation have inspired generations. From the days of black and white Mickey Mouse and Betty Boop to my generation of Ren and Stimpy on Nicktoons to my children’s of Phineas and Ferb and back again to the adult loved cartoons of Futurama and The Simpsons, we are a society devoted to enjoying the laughter in color.
It is no wonder that this very inspiration has made its way into the homes of both young and “big kids” all over the world. Let’s take a look at a couple of them.
This “Adventure Time” themed room designed by Mighty Oaks Little Acorns was recently featured on popular geek site Geekologie. The room was created for the designers’ children who are regular watchers of the show. According to the designer, in order to accomplish this, she made posters of characters at a local office store and then: “went ahead and sprayed some Krylon Crystal Clear in Matte on each poster.”
